Transmission crossmember for the installation of a T-56 six speed transmission into the 1982-1992 third generation GM F-Body Camaro and Firebird. It utilizes the factory sub-frame mounting holes to allow for an easy bolt-in installation.
The crossmember is made of sturdy CNC laser cut and formed 3/16 in. steel mounting brackets and CNC cut 3.00 in. x 1.50 in. rectangle tubing.
The complete assembly is powder coated for an attractive and durable finish.
This is the crossmember only for those who will re-install a factory style transmission tail shaft mounted torque arm. We also offer a complete package that includes the transmission crossmember and crossmember mounted adjustable torque arm for the T-56 application (SKU 315).
This crossmember will mount the following transmission and engine combinations:
1. A T-56 from a 1993-1997 GM F-Body mated to a small block Chevrolet, big block Chevrolet, or a 1993-1997 GM F-body LT1 engine.2. A T-56 from a 1998-2002 GM F-Body mounted to a LSx engine that is mounted using our SKU 971 LSx engine swap mounts.3. The Tremec Magnum-F T-56 transmission. It will ONLY work with the in.Magnum-F in., it will NOT work with any other Magnum T-56 transmission.
