Rated 5 out of 5 by from JEGS 2.5 Electric Exhaust Cutouts We put these on my sons 69 Mustang and and she sounds really good with the cutouts open, that's for sure. I would recommend to others. The price was good also, got them on sale and have military discount so was all cheaper. We ran straight exhaust pipe to mufflers and right before the mufflers, is where we located the cutout at a 45 degree angle slant towards rear tires and side of car. Stopped about a foot from outside of car so can't see. We did this because if had installed right after header collector, too loud inside car. They still loud, and heat is more toward read of car not right under your feet in the front seat. Would recommend to others for sure. They are fun when flipped open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect on BMW M3 Bought these to be able to modulate the sound of a GTHaus Meisterschaft exhaust on my 2011 BMW E92 M3. Install was easy, plenty of wire in the kit, and actual cutouts and motor housing seem very well constructed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from JEGS Exhaust Cut-outs Cut-offs are of very good design and material quality but doesn't identify various installations along with necessary materials needed to complete installation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Few Flaws yet Works Fantastically! I bought this about a month ago and they do exactly what I had wanted from my exhaust! Yet it wasn’t just screw on and be done. A couple of flaws that I wish would be fixed would be, one, they are both identical directions which makes no sense when putting it on two different sides. So one has to be backwards which they state will cause a bit of exhaust leak. Also there is a tiny bit of exhaust leak period no matter which direction. But I don’t know if a place where you can find a perfect exhaust valve so I learn to live with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2nd time ordering from Jegs this is the second product I ordered from Jegs and I have to say I am not real impressed I do like the cutouts, however they do not close all the way I actually had to stick a long screwdriver up inside and push them closed. I tried to look to see if I could adjust them but I have not found anything yet it would be nice if someone would tell me how to adjust to close all the way other than that they seem ok

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked ok This is the third set I've had. First set one motor failed after 9 months. Kegs has great service and warranted them. The second set I damaged. The crest of the road on the intersection I went through caused my car to bottom out and bent them. I don't have experience with another brand but these are much cheaper. But I do feel it comes at a bit of a price. When closed you can hear a little but a leak, it doesn't bother me but it may some. Also, the housing is a little bulky so if you car is lower you may run the risk of hitting the housing for the valves. That's my experience, hope it helps.

Are these waterproof? As in, if I wade through a river, will this get ruined? The “waterproof wiring harness” makes me wonder if you are saying the unit is waterproof or just the wires.

    Asked by: Defender 110
The interior switches are not waterproof, but all of the exterior components are, wiring , connectors, motors.

I have a 97 gmc Sierra with patriot longtube headers and they have a 2 1/2 inch collector while my actual exhaust pipes are 3 inch, I would get the 2 1/2 am I right. My header part number is h8059 would it bolt up?

    Asked by: Tyler_followell
No, you would want the 3" version because these mount to the exhaust pipes, not the collector, using an inline splice such as 555-30752. The complete kit to make it happen in your application is 555-30883k.
