Great value and performance
I have not installed this one yet but have the same model on another car and it has worked flawlessly for 3 race seasons and street diving. You can lock out the timing on it or use mechanical advance that can be adjusted with different bushings and springs. For me this distributor is a good value.

Great product. Looks like it might be the msd just flying the jegs flag, but who cares saves a ton of money. Absolutely do not forget to adjust the slip collar or you will have issues and then be on here leaving a bad review because you forgot something. You must have a 6al box or what have you to make this distributor work. I adjusted mine dropped it in plugged it in and could not be happier. Well worth the money.

Replaced your competitor's distributor
Was using your competitor's unit and it had broken it's advance plate during a race. Bad weld. Rewelded and then after 6 months car would not run. Hard starting, back firing and not run below 20 degrees advanced. CD box and coil checked out good. Ordered 40060 and car fired right up and running great. Competitor's module or pickup must have went out.

Will this distributor gear work with a solid roller cam with a cast gear on camshaft?

I'm using a Dart big M 632 Short block. The MSD 84863 is too short to reach the oil pump shaft and not riding in the middle of the cam gear. Does this have enough adjustment to use on a tall deck block with a short deck intake manifold and spacers?
