    K7518 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for a complete brake kit Installed on a 2018 Mazda 3. Like my last Mazda, a 2014 CX-5, the OEM rotors started disintegrating after 3 Chicago winters. Yes the attached photo is of a 3 year old rotor from a garaged vehicle. On my last Mazda I went with cheap rotors from Autozone for the front (as the rear rotors and pads were actually OK) but this time around I decided to do all four corners as the rear rotors were actually warped. I knew I had warped rotors based on pedal pulsation but I didn't expect them to be the rear. Obviously Power Stop doesn't pretend these are not made in China (almost every aftermarket rotor is) and the pads appear to be made in China though some people claim to receive pads made in the USA. Power Stop is based in Bedford Park, IL just across the street from Chicago so it's plausible they do more than engineering and testing there. I know at one time they did final machining there (probably drilling and slotting of blanks) but with the way the world works now it's hard to believe they would still do that outside of high-profit applications. Anyway, onto this kit. It's very good. Everything is well laid out from the individually wrapped hardware bags to some very good grease that, appropriately, they supply very little of. A little goes a long way and overdoing it can cause it to run onto the friction material. After a few weeks of mixed Spring weather, the zinc coating is doing its job keeping the rotors looking shinier than the rest of the filthy car. The bedding process was pretty simple and a pungent resin smell let me know they were mating after a couple hard decelerations at 1AM (a good time to do such a thing around here) followed by a couple soft decelerations and finally 5 minutes of driving without braking, and finally parking without applying the parking brake. The braking performance is on par with the OEM braking system, but the curve is different. Because the rotors are slotted and drilled in this kit, there is less bite as there is less surface area, but the consistency is very good. I haven't tested hard braking as they are still fairly new rotors, but they are very linear in their braking as drilled rotors often are. Unlike most drilled and slotted rotors, these are surprisingly quiet. I suspect its because of the very conservative drilling and slotting arrangement (they have fewer drills and slots than most performance rotors) which adds some surface area back that would otherwise be missing, in addition to being less abrasive to the pads. As far as dust, there is VERY little after bedding, which left noticeable dust on the wheels, so keep that in mind. Overall I am very happy for the price. Jegs delivered insanely fast as well. Frankly I couldn't see getting a better kit for $250, when you consider all the caliper hardware (from clips to rubber gaskets\boots) to the quality of the zinc coating. I think the most surprising takeaway here is how quiet the braking is, which is excellent for a daily driver. It's identical to OEM, which was totally unexpected for drilled\slotted rotors, so that should put fears to rest for those who were on the fence about such a kit like I was.
