Auto Metal Direct (AMD) hoods are designed to be a direct bolt-on replacement to your vehicles stock hood. All applications utilize your vehicles stock hinges and latch assembly. Each hood features a fully finished, factory style underside. Unlike fiberglass hoods, AMD steel hoods will not flex or warp over time. Regardless of where you are located, AMD steel hoods will stay looking great for years to come!? AMD steel hoods arrive in a black electro coat finish. This is not a primer. This is a sealer put on the steel to protect against rust. All hoods will require normal prep work (test fit, sand, prime) before paint can be applied. We strongly recommend having the hood painted and installed by a qualified auto body technician.
Special Note: Before packaging by our team of professionals, each in-stock sheet metal panel sold and shipped by JEGS goes through a thorough inspection for flaws. It is not uncommon for sheet metal panels to have surface scratches, small dings, or other minor imperfections. These imperfections are not considered damage and will be worked out through the bodywork phase with various levels of sanding and priming. The EDP coating on each panel is used as a protectant during shipping and storage and is not intended to be a finish coat. Proper prepping and priming are required during the bodywork process to protect the metal surface.
