The calipers are available in a standard clear anodized finish, or powder coated red or black finishes. In order to create a quieter brake package SSBC-USA Competition caliper uses a dual pad pin design equipped with o-rings to eliminate brake pad chatter. You get a quieter brake system that also eliminates clamping vibration to increase braking ability. The Competition kits come in two types, The Comp S for street use and Comp R for race use only. The street version comes with a dust seals to keep your oil seals protected from dust and debris but does increase the weight of the caliper. The Comp R does not include the dust seals creating a lighter weight caliper package, but it does require more maintenance, cleaning and upkeep than the dust seal equipped Comp S.
