Here, we’ll talk about our selection of the top 5 fastest cars under $15,000. These cars are ones with excellent acceleration and great handling, and we’ve also thrown in some practicality because, hey, in this economy, you might be able to have just one car – so it’s got to fulfill family duties too.

So, what are our top five fastest cars under $15k? Here’s our list! Note that this list is not exhaustive – if we were to go to town, we could name at least twenty-five models! This is also not a ranking – models sitting higher up aren’t necessarily better than ones lower down.
Cadillac CTS-V (First Gen)

Performance Metrics
The most telling metric is 0-60. After all, you want to get the fastest 0-60 car under 15k. Well, most of the cars in our list can easily do 0-60 in the 5-second bracket. Some can even crack the low-4 second barrier with a skilled driver behind the wheel. The only one that will lag slightly is the Lexus IS300. However, lag is a relative term, as the car can reliably deliver 0-60 times in the low 7 second bracket.
While 0-60 mph is nice, you’ll also want to look at metrics such as braking performance, cornering abilities, and of course, drivability in town. All our cars here can easily perform town driving duties, but you can’t lug their engines at low RPMs in the same way you would with most other vehicles. So bear that in mind, especially for models with turbocharged engines.
