Racing and off-roading transmissions aren't easy to find. In many cases, you have to wait for custom parts that don't always fit your build. This is where G-Force transmissions come into play.

Manufactured by Leonard Long, owner of Long's Machine and Tool G-Force Transmissions, these transmissions are durable and built to last. Long has been manufacturing transmissions for a long time, and he's even won several awards like the NMCA Class Champion Award in 2015.

So, when you need premium modern or classic car transmissions, JEGS has you covered.

Top Features of G-Force Transmissions

Several features set G-Force transmissions apart from similar options. First and foremost, the transmissions are built with military-grade materials and even the most cost-effective models handle up to 600hp with ease. In fact, G-Force transmissions use the same high-nickel alloy steel (9310 grade) that's used in fighter jets.

G-Force transmissions also utilize key features like the face-tooth engagement system. These transmissions use face-tooth engagement systems over traditional synchronizers because it allows the vehicle to shift at higher RPMs. For example, many G-Force transmissions are capable of shifting at upwards of 14,000 RPMs. Face-tooth engagement is available with clutch assistance or with clutchless engagement.

G-Force transmissions are also lightweight. Because they're made with magnesium alloys and aluminum alloys, the transmissions have less weight and more strength than the competition. Each transmission also has bearing supports that are placed near each gear. These support bearings are paired with roller bearings to increase stiffness and reduce friction to create a smooth shifting experience.

The last thing to note is that G-force transmissions are put through rigorous testing to measure quality. Transmissions are tested and re-tested throughout construction to ensure the highest level of quality. Also, independent metallurgy testing and destructive testing are used to maximize quality.

Types of G-Force Transmissions

Long's Machine & Tool has been manufacturing high-performance transmissions for more than 14 years. Over the years, many G-Force transmissions have been produced with popular models being the G-Force T5 transmission and the G-Force G5R transmission.

Still, there are many G-Force transmissions available. Each type of G-Force transmission has strengths and weaknesses depending on your build and goals. Below are the types of G-Force transmissions:

  • The G-Force T5 Transmission
  • G-Force GF5R Transmission
  • The G-Force T5-6 Transmission
  • G-Force GF4A
  • G-Force GF 2000 and 2400

More about the most common G-Force transmissions are found below.

G-Force T5 Transmission

The G-Force T5 transmission utilizes stock mounting locations and dimensions. While the transmission looks stock, it's an upgrade over stock components because of the high-quality parts. The transmission is known for handling upwards of 1,000 horsepower and shifts smoothly up to 14,000 RPMs.

G-Force GF5R Transmission

The G-Force GF5R transmission is built for racing and off-roading. It's compatible with many of Long's shifters and it functions as a 4-speed or 5-speed transmission. Many GF5R transmissions have customization options depending on the vehicle. Changes are made for salt flat vehicles when compared to dragsters, for example.

G-Force T5-6 Transmission

G-Force T5-6 transmissions are built with horsepower in mind. They handle between 900 and 1,000 horsepower and work well in Mustangs, Corvettes, Vipers, and even select Cobra models.

G-Force GF4A

As a true 4-speed racing transmission, the G-Force GF4A transmission is in a league of its own. It leverages an externally shifted gearbox with dual-bearing center support that makes it compact and versatile. Plus, its compact size makes it compatible with most vehicles.

G-Force GF2000 Series (Clutchless)

The GF2000 series transmission is suitable for most clutchless racing applications. It features more support bearings than any other racing transmission and uses a 5-speed or 4-speed shifter. That said, what makes this transmission special is its ability to handle upwards of 1,900 horsepower.

Find the Best Quality

When it comes to shopping for high-quality transmissions, look no further than JEGS. You'll have access to some of the best transmissions in the industry as well as some of the best G-Force transmissions and long shifters. Plus, you'll find even more premium transmissions from brands like Speedmaster and ATK.
When you factor in the quality and convenient order options, it's hard to find better transmissions elsewhere.
