In as much as your speed master EFI isvery eye catching and looks like a setup that I would like to include on my ’56 Chevy, I see no air filtration device included. Please explain. Thank you very much.

Bob, the reason you don’t see any air filters in the photos is because the Speedmaster downdraft EFI setup is sold as the manifold, throttle bodies, and rails only. The stacks are open in the pictures for looks, but the system still needs filtration if you plan on driving the car on real roads. Most people running this setup use either small individual filters that slip over each stack or a matched set of mesh screens. The individual filters are the better choice for a street driven ’56 since they actually keep dust and debris out instead of just catching large particles. They’re made by a few aftermarket companies and sized specifically for downdraft stack setups, so it’s just a matter of choosing the ones that fit the stack diameter.
