    Big Block Chevy

      This engine makes a great foundation for a mild performance build or a good upgrade for a worn out short block.

    Block Information:

    • Seasoned OE 4 bolt main 1pc seal 1991-1995 Gen V
    • Bore/Stroke: 4.310" x 4.000"
    • Displacement: 454ci
    • Camshaft Bearings: Dura-Bond, installed and clocked to OEM position
    • Freeze Plugs: Brass, installed and sealed
    • Oil Galley Plugs: Installed and sealed

    Rotating Assembly:

    • Crankshaft: OE cast crank reground .010"/.010"
    • Balance: External rear (flexplate/flywheel), internal front (haromonic balancer)
    • Rods: OE reman powder metal 6.135"
    • Compression Ratio: 109cc= 10.7:1 / 116cc= 10.1:1 / 119cc= 9.8:1
    • Pistons: Hypereutectic +22cc dome
    • Rings: Plasmamoly

     Recommended Components:

    • Balancer: External balance
    • Flexplate/Flywheel: External balance
    • Head Gasket: .038" thickness or per application
    • Oil: 10W30 Non synthetic for first 3000 miles

    In 2007, ATK launched a High Performance Division with one of the finest engine shops in the country. ATK short blocks will start any build with a solid foundation. GM short blocks are generally packaged as the engine block assembled with pistons, piston rings, and crankshaft installed.

    There is no core charge on this short block, also there is no mechanical fuel pump provision.

    What is the max recommended rpm for this short block?

    Hello, this is a stock short block. 5800 RPM would be the max we recommend turning it.

    Need-to CONFIRM " 109CC " for " 10.7:1 COMPRESSION-RATIO ... Thanx !!

    It will depend on the head gasket, but should be around 10.6:1 with gasket 4.370 bore and .041 thickness. Also our blocks are not zero decked but around .010 in the hole.
