How To Install Cragar 08/61 Series S/S Super Sport Wheels
The first step in installing Cragar wheels is mounting tires to them. This requires a tire-mounting machine or tire changer. The wheels and tires also need balanced to prevent vibration while driving. Ideally, the balancing should be done so that the wheel weights can be added to the inside of the wheel, hiding them from view. Next, the correct size lug nuts need to be used, matching the vehicle's wheel studs and in a Mag/Shank style. If the wheels are a uni-lug design, the washers need to be centered for 5 x 4-3/4" bolt pattern and offset for 5 x 4-1/2" and 5 x 5" bolt patterns. The wheels are then torqued in a "star" or "cross" pattern that evenly tightens them down. Depending on the wheel stud size, the torque specifications will change.
