    Manufacturer's Part Number:

    JEGS Lava Mat™ Rugged Radiant Heat Shield outperforms most other adhesive type material by as much as 60%. Made from crushed volcanic rock with a woven pattern look. Held in place on a clean, oil free surface with high temp adhesive to withstand radiant heat of up to 1200°F direct/continuous and 1800° intermittent. Can also be held in place with screws, rivets or stainless wire ties for an extra measure of security when exposed to elements such as dirt, oil and water. Measures just .007" thick and is easily cut to size with a pair of scissors. Use on your hood, body panel, firewall, floor board, fuel cell or gas tank. 1/pkg.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Takes the heat! I bought this for my twin turbo mustang because the heat was melting the paint. I feel that it should be shipped rolled up rather than folded because the creases from folding do not stay adhered, but it does the the heat.

    Can I use this to wrap my starter? Headers is touching it

    This will help, but it will only work for a limited time with contact. Headers can get hotter than 1200 degrees.
