    Automatic Transmission

    The torque arm relocation kit from UMI is designed to remove the front mounting point of the torque arm off the transmission and protect the tail shaft from damage. General Motors tail shaft mounted design works great for a stock driven vehicle however it is not designed to take abuse and hard launches. This setup replaces your transmission cross member with a new stronger cross member with a built in torque arm mount. The relocation kit is designed to fit the heavy duty GM 4L80E transmission and will work with virtually any stock style aftermarket torque arm as well as the factory torque arm (Must use bushing #3004 to use a stock torque arm). This unit is built using USA steel tubing, 3/16” mild steel mounting plates and includes all necessary hardware needed for the installation. The torque arm mount is laser cut from 1/4” thick mild steel and features a new clam shell for appropriately attaching the torque arm to the new cross member

    A Better Design with Stronger Set-Up

    UMI Performance Torque Arm Relocation Kits remove the front mounting point of the torque arm off the transmission while protecting the tailshaft from damage. GM tailshaft-mounted design is used for stock-driven vehicles, but it is not able to handle hard launches & abuse. This set-up replaces the transmission crossmember with a new stronger set-up using a built-in torque arm mount. The design of each relocation kit is to fit a specific transmission and work with most stock-style aftermarket & factory torque arms. This unit is made from rectangular mild steel tubing, 0.188" mild steel mounting plates, and includes all necessary installation hardware. The torque arm mount is machined from .250" mild steel with a new clamshell for attaching the torque arm to the new crossmember.

    Note: This product must be used with a solid one-piece polyurethane bushing. It will not work with the factory bushing that utilizes a two-piece design. If using a stock torque arm with this relocation kit, polyurethane bushing 236-3004 must be used (sold separately).
