- ATK HP Crate Engines Small Block Chevy 350ci / 330HP / 380TQ
In 2007, ATK launched a High-Performance Division with one of the finest engine shops in the country. By reverse-engineering all of their engines, they are able to eliminate any OEM deficiencies. This makes an ATK-built crate engine have a superior design over the original engine by incorporating better components when needed. These quality-built engines are offered in three different stages for ease of finishing an engine swap. ATK HP engines feature a 24-month/unlimited mile warranty.

The steps for installing the ATK HP small block Chevy crate engine will vary, depending on the vehicle and engine package. It is important to follow the included instructions for proper installation. However, in most applications, the first step is assembling all exterior engine components that are easier to install outside of the vehicle. Example parts include the intake manifold, drive belt pulleys, water pump, oil filter, dipstick, thermostat and housing, spark plugs, wires, and motor mounts. Next, the engine is lowered into the chassis and connected to the matching frame mounts. The transmission and drivetrain can then be bolted to the engine, as well as the exhaust system, cooling system, ignition system, fuel system, air filter / intake, plumbing, and any remaining components. Once all work is double-checked and fluids at proper level, the engine can be started. Immediately after starting, the ignition timing and idle speed will need to be adjusted as well as careful monitoring of the vehicle gauges for proper oil pressure and water temperature. Installation is then complete.
