- Allstar Double D Steering Shafts
Often used with stock type couplers, Allstar double D steering shafts can be used in assemblies without welding. These 3/4" O.D. solid steel shafts have the appearance of two D's stacked back to back when viewed from the end or simply a 3/4" round shaft with flats on opposite sides. They are commonly connected to u-joints using a set screw and the shaft should also be dimple drilled to help pilot the set screws. This prevents the assembly from sliding apart. Consult sanctioning rules to verify proper installation when building a steering assembly. Double D steel shafts have two flats to retain stock steering joints. Please note, two indents must be drilled and tapped for set screw retention.
