Roll Cage
High speeds are involved in automotive racing and as a result, roll-overs are a possibility any time a vehicle changes direction. When a car or truck ends up on its side or upside down, the weakest point is the roof. Because the sight line is typically constructed from thin pillars and glass to allow driver visibility, the tradeoff is a reduction in structural strength. This causes the roof to cave in with not much effort under the weight of the vehicle inverted. To prevent this from happening, a roll bar or roll cage is installed within the interior. Constructed of metal round tubing bent to fit against the inside walls of the passenger compartment and welded to the floor, this reinforced "skeleton" protects the driver by preventing the roof and sides from collapsing.
When choosing a kit for your roll cage car, the first step is confirming the required specifications for the racing class you will be participating in. This includes the number of mounting points (ex, 4-point, 6-point, 8-point, etc.), as well as the roll cage tubing outside diameter, wall thickness, and material. Then confirm the year, make, and model of the vehicle's body and match it with a compatible kit that has the correct bends that will provide proper fitment and protection.
JEGS offers a generous roll cage selection from the best brands in the industry like Rhodes Race Cars, Alston Race Cars, Competition Engineering, Allstar Performance, JEGS, and others. Each kit includes high quality material and bends to provide you with the protection you need at the price you can afford.
