These hood hinge gas springs are recommended for use with steel hoods only. Do not attempt to use them in combination with either lightweight carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods. The opening actuation will be too abrupt and could cause personal injury or damage to the hood.

Do these hinges open to stock hinge height? Are they strong enough to hold the steel hood up without sliding down?
