    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great low, rumbling sound Bought these to replace a couple of welded magnaflows, which was way past due, these sound like a turbo muffler should, nice and low, at 2400 on the highway they just sound great, not too loud, but you can hear them. Yes, these neck down to 2 1/2 internally, but a stock 6.0 motor isn't going to care, Dynomax makes several 3" mufflers that carry that all the way through if you need more flow. These sound great!

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Misleading Flow Numbers In the description for this muffler in states that this muffler is good to 636hp, 700CFM. It's not. When contacting DynoMax about an unrelated question I was told this muffler was good up to 200hp @ 5hp loss. Nice finding out after the fact and having to go back to the exhaust shop and having a brand new muffler cut out of my exhaust system that was installed days before. CFM/HP ratings are available for every muffler through Dynomax and should be listed clearly with the each specific muffler. Additionally, the baffle tubes inside the muffler are actually 2.5", not 3 inch as advertised. This is another piece of information available from Dynomax which is not stated on the Jegs website. There is nothing wrong with the muffler itself. It's of decent quality, it's just that you need to contact the muffler manufacturer for exacting numbers before buying anything. Hopefully I can save you the hassle I went through.

    Do the 3” hush thrush stay 3”” inside or bottleneck down smaller internally?

    The Dynomax 289-17743 muffler does not stay 3" all the way thru.
