85350 - Edge Products CS2 Series Programmers and Monitors is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2, Great Upgrade I got this for my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2. I've opted to keep the motor pretty much stock and this was recommended for that application. So far I've been pretty happy with it. It comes with 4 tunes: 1)Towing, 2)Fuel Mileage, 3)87 Octane, and 4)91 Octane Performance. I haven't tried the towing tune yet, but compared to stock the other 3 definitely give it more "get up and go". The 91 Octane tune definitely woke it up the most, but I wouldn't consider it drag racing performance or anything like that. If anything it makes the truck feel "normal" while pulling pretty good off the line. I suspect my truck has the infamous "death flash" which may be why the the tunes felt so much better. Mileage-wise, I've only tested 3 settings so far. All three were tested with approximately 40% street miles and 60% highway miles. The first one is the stock tune. The best I got was 14mpg, but the average was closer to 13.8mpg. On top of that the truck felt pretty sluggish, especially off the line. The next one was the 91 Octane Performance tune, which also netted 14mpg, but the truck responded much better performance wise. The third and final tune was the Fuel Mileage tune. I've netted 15mpg, with some slight decrease in performance, but still much better than stock. I'd have no qualms about using this as my everyday driver tune as the truck runs pretty good, pulls grades on the highway well and give enough "umph" for passing if needed. All that aside, I really like the functionality of the 85350 to see select parameters going into the PCM. Things like IAT (Intake Air Temperature), Trans Fluid Temp, and Accelerator Pedal Position are really convenient as I can see how the truck is functioning in real time. The APP is especially handy when cruise control is on as I can see exactly what input it's got the throttle at. You can also adjust the programming for what tire size you're running, which is a popular modification most people do. Overall I'd definitely recommend the 85350 to any Dodge guy that has the death flash. I can't comment on how well it would work for any of the 2nd Gen trucks that don't have it, but I suspect alot of people might get some mileage gains, the ability to monitor stuff, and adjust for tire size that might make it worth it for them.
