Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality, but you’ll need to build an install tool. Bought this hub to work with my new keyed crankshaft on an LT1 Gen 2 carburetor conversion. This hub is required to use the matching underdrive pulley. The hub I received had clearly been installed before, due to scoring on the inside of the hub. There was even rust and pitting on the exterior surface. Arranged an exchange with customer service, returned the item, got issued a refund, then waited 4 days without a shipping update. Called customer service and was informed that I would have to re-order the item because a replacement was never sent. Zonk. If you plan to install this on your LT1, you will need to build a tool to press the hub onto the crankshaft snout. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE FACTORY BOLT. I used 1-foot piece of 7/16-20 grade 8 threaded rod, with a stack of grade 8 washers and nut. I purchased a cheap SBC press tool off Amazon and used the large press bearing on my custom tool. I also used 3 nuts on the end of the rod as a lock/jam nut. This will allow you to prevent the rod from spinning into the crank and bottoming out while pressing the hub. Before install, I threaded the rod into the crankshaft until it bottomed out and then backed it off 2 full turns. Put anti-seize lubricant on all threads, washers and inside the hub bore to help with install and aid in future removal. Also, through research of the installation process, I’ve noticed that people were having trouble with getting it pressed on. THIS THING IS TIGHT. On my first 2-3 attempts, it would not want to go on square. This caused a ridge to build up around half the bore of the hub, about .5” inside. I lightly sanded the scoring/ridge with a Dremel and a small sanding drum on the slowest speed. I then lightly sanded the inside of the hub, only about .5” down the bore, just to smooth out the imperfections and allow for an easier initial press. Worked perfectly. Once it started going, the rest went smooth. Cranked it down until it bottomed out against the cam chain gear. Installed the crank bolt to spec. Done. Take your time on this one. The last thing you want is to strip the threads inside the crank snout. Good luck!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inaccurate Representation of the damper hub I have a '96 Impala. This hub is 3mm too long and the recommended Jeg's harmonic balancer pulley I bought to go with it does not line up with the other accessory pulleys which is critical for the serpentine belt to run smoothly. The simple solution is to cut about 2.5mm off the end that meets the reluctor. Instead of sending it back I cut it. This damper hub is really for the '94-95 Impala that has no reluctor and needs the longer damper shaft.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not fit LT1 Initially bought 51605 for a LT1 corvette, does not fit accessory drive. Was told I need the long version for the caprice. This is also 1/8" too far inset for belt to work. Tried on multiple LT motors, does not align and will not work

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This part was too short, it is listed at approx 4 inches but measures about 3.4 inches. Had to get the car back together so used the original part with a repair sleeve. You may want to check the part because it does not locate the harmonic balancer/pulley in the right place for the impala ss serpentine belt.
