CHT562A - Cold Case Aluminum Replacement Radiators for GM Cars & Trucks is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchased in hope it would cure a long time issue Bought this after doing research on the best downflow aluminum possible for the money. The one we purchased sits behind the core support of our 57 Chevy so its no fun R&R these rads with a shroud and a 7 blade puller in the bay as well they are nothing short of a Pain in the neck...Out of the box.... The quality over seems good. You will want to R&R all the fittings and Teflon seal them. the mounting sides of the radiator do not have weld nuts in them like a desert cooler four row copper, so you will have to improvise and install hardware. It sits a little taller onto the core support and has vertical and horizontal mount slots on the side brackets but clears the hood no problems at all.. It also holds 1 1/2 pints less coolant that the copper 4 core down flow it replaced. Unfortunately, this radiator did not out perform the 4 core desert cooler radiator it replaced. it was equal to or a tad less than the previous radiator. I use Evans coolant, 160 T stat, 7 blade 17inch puller, changed WP pulley ratios and shroud and the issue is not the rads as though but more or less :cam LSA and fuel and timing to cylinder pressure.... It doesn't run hot but it does run 3/4. Sum it up... Bang for buck on a stock engine. Yes. For my engine, I never cleared my issue. Both Radiators copper and this Alum were not the issue.
