  • E3 Spark Plugs E3.40 Details

    14mm

E3.40 is a 14mm, 0.460” reach plug with a taper seat. It fits domestic applications in the 60’s to early 90’s. E3 automotive plugs have three legs securing the DiamondFIRE electrode to the shell. This allows for excellent heat transfer, and helps to create more turbulence in the cylinder. The patented DiamondFIRE side wire is proven to increase power, reduce fuel consumption and improve hydrocarbon emissions in long-term use. The unique ground electrode and full-size center electrode also provides optimal performance for a guaranteed five years or 100,000 miles.

Increases Engine Power up-to 12% over Conventional Spark Plugs!

E3 Spark Plugs utilize the latest in E3 technology, helping engines operate more efficiently, burn fuel more completely, reduces emissions and deliver maximum horsepower during every combustion cycle. When compared to conventional spark plugs, E3 Spark Plugs offer up-to a 12% increase in engine power and performance. A patented Edge-to-Edge DiamondFire ground electrode design outperforms other plug designs by getting the combustion process started earlier in the combustion chamber. A faster, more complete burn provides optimum spark and an increase in engine life, fuel efficiency and money savings!

DiamondFIRE Technology: E3 DiamondFIRE ground electrode technology works to create a plasma channel through which the spark current flows more easily. This helps the multiple-edge configuration to outperform all other spark plug designs available, including many premium offerings from the major manufacturers.

    Features:

    • Up-to a 12% Increase in Power over Conventional Spark Plugs
    • Faster Flame Kernel for Increased Fuel Efficiency
    • DiamondFIRE Technology
    • Open Ground Electrode Design
    • Forward Projection into Spark Zone
    • Edge-to-Edge Spark Discharge
    • Reduces Emissions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd time over of SUCCESS At one time, I ordered some of these plugs from someone beside Jeg's. They were delivered via USPS, but all losly packed. 3 of them arrived broken. Not so much with Jeg's. I love these plugs, I love their service. Life long fan and customer here for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I installed this on a 1971 Mustang 351C M code 3 years ago, made an immediate and noticeable improvement. Burns through slight oil leak, fires hotter and I could feel the added Horsepower. Tried it on a 2004 Buick LaSaber V6 a few years ago did not work as well in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low Cost Upgrade! I have installed these plugs in many vehicles. They have always, always been an upgrade. The main improvement I've noticed is that vehicles have better throttle response off the line and through the bottom end. Some rigs also had a little improvement in gas mileage. They are indeed a low cost upgrade. I always recommend E3s to everyone.

Do these come pre-gapped? If not how do you gap these?

I have a 1986 Monte Carlo SS with a 305, which I have installed headers. The regular E340 is to long. Do you have a shorter spark plug for this application?

    Asked by: gus86
Not in the E3 brand of spark plugs, we do have some Accel plugs (111-8198) that are short and for your application.

    What is the difference from E3 40 and E3 42 ? can I use them in my 1978 454 and my 1994 350 ? are they the same ?.

    Asked by: johnny 77
The heat range are different. You would want to use the recommended plug per their catalog.
