GM
The JEGS 78836 tailgate handle relocation kit is designed to fit 1999-2007 GM trucks. By moving the tailgate handle to the inside you will transform your truck with a sleek appearance. This kit also provides added safety by making the handle inaccessible when using a tonneau cover or bed cap.
During the installation process, the inside of the tailgate is cut to fit the included bracket, which holds the handle. This assembly is secured by (6) self-tap screws. The included fill panel is then welded on the outside of the tailgate to eliminate the opening.
Features
- The weld-in fill panel is cut to size and uncoated for easy installation
- The handle bracket has an EDP coating to prevent rust. This piece should be scuffed and painted before final assembly.
- Metal thickness
- Fill panel: 16-gauge
- Bracket: 20-gauge
Note: Installation requires cutting, welding and paintwork. The kit cannot be returned once it has been modified.
