    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality, Lots of Work Still Needed Great kit. Before buying, understand what your expectations are. If you are expecting to grab a tube and welding it in, this is not the kit for you. There is a lot of measuring, cutting, and coping to be done to make this kit fit. But that is what is required for a “kit.” If you are wanting a kit that gives you all of the necessary pieces, bent to suit, and about 80% to a finished product, but want room for creativity... then this IS the kit for you. I wanted a kit to give me the bulk of the pieces needed, but not box me into a set design or layout. All while not paying for a complete kit that I wouldn’t use a bunch of the pieces or end up modifying them anyway. That’s why I chose the 10 point cage, as I could make it a 4 point and have spare tubes to X-up the rear or go full 10 point and then buy only small pieces for design and triangulation. Each piece has a few inches of template on both ends. All tubes are true and all bends are smooth. ALWAYS check, though. My halo was off true by a very small amount. I could lay it on a level surface and press on opposing corners and it would rock. But once I cut down to length and coped, it lost its “rock” on a flat surface. This tells me the last bend was off-plane by a degree when being bent. But no big deal. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the halo issue as well as the harness bar was not coped on either end. It should have been coped on one end and then the template could be on the other. Other than those 2 small things, it’s the perfect kit. Even left me with enough template on the rear strut bars to make a strut tower brace and a couple grab handles in corners. A good cage is not for the faint of heart. Measure 100 times, cut once. Great kit, lots of work. But all good cages are.

    why would this kit not fit a 1974 260z?

    There should be no issues with Jegster 550-942704K roll bar fitting the '74 260Z.
