    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely essential to a Mercedes diesel I bought a 2016 E250 bluetec with over 150k miles. The dealer had done all oil changes but I do my own. I’ve used nothing but Mobil1 on my vehicles for 25 years and have never had any serious engine issues. Mobil1 and mechanics recommend ESP 5w-30 for the E250 diesel Mercedes (it has had the emissions update), so it’s what I’m using. No issues whatsoever and I doubt there ever will be any. The car consistently gets around 40 mpg, too, with averages higher than that on road trips. Thanks for a great product, Mobil.

Mobil 1 dropped the LL04 cert for this product when BMW partnered with Shell but it retained equivalent specs for Mercedes (229.51) , VW (504/507) and Porsche (C30). I ran this in my 335d and use it in my late model 535d. The ESP line is possibly the most advanced product offered by M1. I would never hesitate to use ESP 5w30 or even the 0w30.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good cold weather start up Recommended by Subaru Mechanic for the WRX 2.0 direct injected tubro charged motors. With So many new car manufactures going to direct injection technology, it is a mystery to me why Mobil is ignoring this growing segment...........No one wishes the expense, and issues that go with carbon buildup on the backs of the valves of these engines. Mobil is in a great position to beat the manufactures at their own game, as they do not seem to be concerned with carbon build up as it is causing issues mostly beyond there warranty periods. Mobil could really clean up, if they would address this and advertise this positive aspect of this formulation.
