They do (NOT) require "GUIDE PLATES" if used on a 1987-1996 type with factory self aligning rocker arms! If you wish to use guide plates, of you have upgraded your heads with heads that have or require guide plates, then use non "SELF ALIGNING" type.

    Why does the rocker arm to the right in your picture, the one that is upside down. Look like the arms holding the roller tip will hit the top of the tapped and not the roller itself...?

    These are self aligning rockers the, the tabs are to locate the rocker on the valve stem and kep the rocker from coming off when used with out guide plates
