Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a bolt on! Many mods and fab needed First let me talk about the good. It's a very good price for all you get and I received my order pretty quickly. Now, the challenges. First thing I ran into was the front inner wheel bearings were wrong. They were close enough that I fought with them a bit before I realized they just must be wrong. They wouldn't slip on the spindle well and they sat too proud in the bearing race that was preinstalled in the rotor. After a call to Right Stuff tech support they confirmed they were wrong and sent replacements. Next was that the dust shields were not cut to fit the spindles well and I needed to hog them out a bit to fit on the spindle flat and correct. Next was they sent two sets of rear flex hoses in the kit and the rears don't fit on the front. Again, another called to RS tech support and again confirmed incorrect and I waited for the next replacements to show up. The rear conversion setup is just poorly designed. They have a video on their site that explains this and I see why. The "lever" that the ebrake cable attachs to will sit against a stop cast into the caliper. It's pushed back against the stop by the return spring on the caliper. However, you must adjust the position of this lever to "preload" the pads against the rotor since the piston will not fully engage the rotor if you don't do this. The challenge is that the bracket's adjustability is very limited and you can't get it set correct AND have it sit against the stopper as shown in the video. If they had die cut the opening in the bracket to be a 12 point cut instead of a 6 point, this might have worked, but they didn't The only choice is to overtighten the ebrake cable and pull the bracket forward and off the stop to get it in the correct position. This is really poor design. Also the replacement ebrake cables were described as "generic" and in plain english that translates to useless. I was, however, able to adjust my existing cables to work. Why they include these for this kit, I don't understand. Next was the disaster associated with using the included booster. The bracket and linkage that came on the booster had absolutely no chance of being used in a 69 Charger. It pushed the boost forward 4 inches and up several inches and wouldn't work. We removed all the bracketry and decided to mount it directly to the firewall like the original. However, now the linkage assembly wouldn't connect to the brake pedal in the car. We had to machine a new adjustable rod that attached to the rod from the boost and the brake pedal assembly in the car. This would be nearly impossible for someone who doesn't have access to this capability. The Master Cylinder actually seems to be pretty good and appears to be a direct replacement for what was there. The existing brakelines lined up and went on with no issues. Once I got through all of these challenges and got the wheels back on the car, it looks pretty nice. However, be aware that the calipers are painted not powder coated. That is apparently a separate option you somehow have to order. At this point, I found I had no rear brakes and a very soft pedal. Further adjustment of the ebrake cable was needed to get the rear brakes working but really needs dialed in just right or you'll end up with your rear brakes always partly engaged. Finally, all else done, I have brakes but there's still something wrong with the pedal feel. It has a resistance in the early pedal throw that you have to push through before the brakes engage. I may just have to learn to live with this one... Now what you should know before you order it: 1.
