Speedmaster engine studs are premium-grade, race-quality studs that are created from aircraft quality 8740 high tensile strength chromoly steel, withstanding up to 190,000 PSI .They are ground and thread-rolled after heat treatment to ensure the exacting tolerances that Speedmaster requires for all of their fasteners. This ensures strength and consistent torque readings. All kits come complete with 4130 heat-treated, parallel-ground washers and high-strength 12-point nuts.
By installing a Speedmaster main stud kit, you can eliminate main cap walk and fretting, and protect cylinder block threads. Every Main Stud Kit is made from premium-grade, race-quality, 8740 high tensile strength chromoly steel that is rated at 190,000 psi. After heat treating, main stud kits are thread-rolled for exact tolerances that meet or exceed the most stringent aerospace specifications. Kits include 4130 parallel-ground washers and high-strength 12-point nuts that are heat treated for strength and long-term durability.
