Keep Your Radiator and Heater Core Safe from Debris Damage
Champion's Inline Coolant Filters are specifically designed to be installed in the upper radiator hose. These filters are highly effective in preventing clogging caused by foreign particles and rust scale in the system. If your radiator does not come with a filler neck, you can install Champion's Filler Necks in the upper radiator hose to ensure the efficient functioning of your radiator.

Discover the ultimate protection for your cooling system with the Champion Cooling Systems Inline Coolant Filter – the small investment that can make a huge difference in engine reliability and performance. Designed to be mounted in the upper hose of your cooling fill-neck system, this high-quality filter intercepts rust, scale, and debris before they can clog your radiator fins or damage the internals of your heater-core radiator passages.
Constructed from durable machined aluminum with a clear glass housing, the unit not only resists corrosion but also makes routine inspection ultra-easy — you’ll be able to see when the element is collecting contaminants and needs servicing. With available sizes ranging from 1¼″ to 1¾″, you’ll find a fit that seamlessly integrates into your radiator hose filter path and cooling system layout.
Why risk damage from hidden debris when you can proactively protect the full cooling circuit — including the critical heater core filter path and the radiator hose filter area that often gets overlooked? This filter helps maintain optimal flow and thermal efficiency, reducing the likelihood of overheating during demanding conditions. It’s an excellent choice for high-performance builds, restorations, or daily drivers that deserve best-in-class cooling care.
Installing the filter is straightforward and gives you peace of mind knowing you’ve taken a smart step toward safeguarding your entire system. Add the Champion Inline Coolant Filter to your build today and protect your radiator, heater core, and hoses from the unseen threats lurking in the coolant stream.
Cooling systems on older vehicles tend to be a weak link, and an aluminum fan shroud from Champion is a great way to optimize your cooling system’s effectiveness. Fan shrouds direct air from the fan to the radiator by isolating it rather than letting cool air escape to the outside, significantly enhancing cooling efficiency at low or high speeds. Paired with a high performance radiator, a Champion aluminum fan shroud is a great way to ensure efficient air flow and thermal management. They’re an especially good option for pre-1960s vehicles, which often weren’t equipped with any kind of shroud at all from the factory.
Performance Benefits & Key Features
Champion aluminum fan shrouds are manufactured in an ISO-compliant facility for the highest precision and quality control, and are laser cut from durable aluminum stock for a correct fit. Aluminum has the benefit of strength (stronger than plastic shrouds) and corrosion resistance, while helping to keep curb weight down. Select fan shrouds are designed for single or dual electric fans, which not only boost cooling capacity but help reduce parasitic drag on the engine by not relying on a belt-driven fan. Full kits are available for select vehicles, and include the electric fan, shroud, fan controller, mounting hardware, pigtail, fan relay, electrical connections, wiring and all related parts for installation. With a wide variety of fitments, dimensions, shroud sizes and configurations, Champion aluminum fan shrouds are the perfect complement when paired up with a high performance radiator, such as Ledfoot Racing components.
Fitment, Compatibility & Applications
JEGS carries Champion Cooling System aluminum fan shrouds for a wide variety of vehicles, including Ford cars and trucks from the 50s through the 70s, select 1940s and 50s Oldsmobile models, select Chevrolet, Buick and Pontiac models from the late 1930s through the 80s, and 90s Chevy Suburban models. In addition, shrouds and full cooling kits are available for a direct, universal fit, depending on radiator size. Champion even has a 4 x 12” fan shroud setup for 90s Ford trucks and vans. Many Champion shrouds are designed to work with Champion 2-row, 3-row or Monster Core 4-row radiators.
