Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well. Easy install. I bought this for use on my Cobra replica. With the amount of custom/amateur wiring I wanted an extra safeguard against fire. It sees long idle periods too so eliminating parasitic circuits helps keep the battery charged too. This works very well on both counts. I mounted it out of sight near the battery in the trunk and wired the solenoid to a switch on the dash. The car is running a 427 LS3 stroker with 11.7:1 compression ratio, break-in oil and a gear-reduction MSD starter motor. All charging and starting amps are running through the solenoid. The install kit was complete, but I changed the switch to one with a safety cover to make it easy to slap the solenoid off in case of emergency.

Will this solenoid operate the same if you were to switch the positive side by the fuse and go direct to ground from the ground terminal? What are the solenoids dimensions?
