    9406 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the 9506 Have been running the powermaster 9506 the past couple years and have had to replace the gear a couple times due to it not throwing out far enough to engage enough of the flywheel. This one fixed the issue since the splines are longer than on the 9506. No problem whatsoever starting the 390. Also allows more header clearance than the other one did. Wish I would've gone with this one sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works and sounds great. I had to get this smaller starter for my headers on a 1966 Comet with a 390. Very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great power I installed this on a 12 to 1 compression new build 427. Starter had no problem spinning the motor to build oil pressure and then start the motor. Original starter would not turn the new motor. This starter has power to spare. Doesn’t seem to draw excessive power from the battery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Long wont fit with block huger headers. I tried to replaced my old starter with this one and it didn't fit! I have block huger headers and it was too long and hit them. I end up ordering the Power master 9506 and it fit it was about 3/4" shorter than the 9406.
