Hello, I have a 2004 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 engine 4x4. I need the complete timing chain kit, I wanted to confirm if this works for me? Thanks for the help.

The 9-0398SB kit should be the correct one for your 4x4 4.0L Ranger, but it depends on if the engine has a balance shaft or not. Most of the 4x4 models had engines that include a balance shaft. If the engine does not have a balance shaft then you will need a 9-0398SC.

    I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport  4.0 , 4 wheel drive  Vin 1FMYU70E1YUB01530 . I’m needing a Timing chain kit , which kit will work on it ?

    Asked by: Chuck
To pick the correct kit you would need to know if the engine has a balance shaft or not. Typically, the 4x4 Explorers had balance shafts, so the 9-0398SB should be correct. If you find that the engine does not have a balance shaft, then the 9-0398SC kit would be correct.
