on the Big-Torque Small Block 383 Stroker!

    Free Shipping!

Chevrolet Performance's big-torque SP383 is more powerful than ever. Chevrolet added their revised cylinder heads that incorporate a new, high-rpm valvetrain to help the SP383 produce 435 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The new, lightweight aluminum cylinder head casting is based on the proven Fast Burn design. They feature 62cc chamber, 210cc intake runners, 2.00'' hollow stem intake/1.55'' sodium-filled exhaust valves, Blue beehive valve springs, steel retainers, machined steel spring seats and split key locks, D-shaped exhaust ports, dual intake bolt pattern, standard perimeter and center-bolt valve cover bolt patterns, Angled Spark Plugs (5/8" Hex, 3/4" Reach, Tapered Plugs). The beehive-style valve springs enable greater high-rpm performance and durability. They allow the SP383 to rev higher, building more power to complement its low-rpm torque.

The SP383 is built with a brand-new block with four-bolt mains. It also features a forged-steel crankshaft, an aggressive hydraulic roller, camshaft and durable, high-silicon pistons. Unique valve covers distinguish the engine from previous versions and it now includes a high-flow, aluminum intake manifold. Use the Holley 770-cfm four-barrel carburetor (p/n 809-19170093) or (p/n 510-0-83770) to make the most of the engine's capability and achieve the listed horsepower and torque ratings. JEGS has everything you need to finish off the engine and get this small-block stroker running in your vehicle faster!

Would this be a good choice for the street and occasional weekend cruise within 100 mile radius? 3.42 in rear TH400. & 26.5 in rear tire height

    Asked by: 73 Camaro
Yes, this will work well in that application. We would recommend an EFi system for this engine.

Hello, this is for a 70 c10 swb, will the zz6 front accessory kit work on this, is the flexplate compatible with a 700r4, also looking at the sniper efi, and the holley dual sync distributor, is there a benefit to this distributor with this engine? Thanks

    Asked by: jkacman77
As far as the accessory kit goes, since this is an engine swap there is a good chance it will fit but obviously there will be fabricating involved as with any engine swap. Also you will need to use the 700r4 flexplate adapter to make the flywheel work properly. The Dual Sync will be a great choice and will help with clearance with the Sniper EFI.

What would be a good recommendation for a serpentine belt system for this engine? Or should I stick with the old v-belt system?

    Asked by: bdaly
V belt systems work well for many applications. Here is a link to the page to look through the serpentine options. http://www.jegs.com/p/March-Performance/March-Chevy-Small-Block-Standard-Mid-Mount-Serpentine-Kits/756653/10002/-1

Can I install an 800cfm Edelbrock carb on this engine without have to re-jet? Or will this be too much carb for this engine & horsepower combination?

    Asked by: BSD1
A 800 will be a little too large and will needed re-jeted . i would look at a 700-750 size carb.
